Erlanger is a multi-hospital health system with an academic medical center based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. 


Our mission is to compassionately care for people, with a commitment to healing, teaching, and leading. Erlanger serves to deliver high quality care to diverse patient populations, offering a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient medical services to more than 600,000 patients per year from 50 counties within our region.  Erlanger is the tri-state region’s only Level I Trauma Center, and is the only healthcare system in the region with ten intensive care units comprising more than 100 beds. Additionally, Erlanger is home to the Southeast Regional Stroke Center at Erlanger, a nationally recognized certified comprehensive stroke Center. Erlanger’s Heart and Lung Institute is the region’s only academic cardiovascular program and serves as a referral center for complex cardiovascular care in the region. Erlanger Health System is a member of the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network.

A broad range of pediatric medical services are provided through the Children’s Hospital at Erlanger, which offers the region’s only Level IV Neonatal ICU , pediatric trauma team, emergency room, and pediatric intensive care unit. Children’s Hospital at Erlanger serves more than 40,000 patients per year through the dedicated Children’s Emergency Department and admitting services. Children’s Hospital also features a new, state of the art outpatient center housing multiple medical subspecialties.
